New Doctor Who hmm?
So.. today marked the start of the newest series of Doctor Who, the buzz of which had pretty much died out of me ages ago, but never-the-less it was pretty impossible to not know of the oncoming event that was publisied pretty much during every break between programmes.
I think it's simple enough to say it's just as fun as the last season was; some of the teasers for the season do look a little iffy, but the first episode was in my opinion, very good, it was fun, innocent and provided some very nice light entertainment.
I loved the planet Zovirax gag, though sadly it's a joke that will be rendered pretty much confusing when people forget the advert :/
As for the episode itself it was a fairly cute introductory episode, though refreshingly different to Rose's introduction, as I've mentioned previously the show; for me is a nice bit of entertainment; if I wanted science fiction I'd go watch some Firefly, or perhaps even Battlestar ^_^ Doctor Who doesn't fit into science fiction (IMO) more than likely because of the audience it is trying to reach, as well as the story lines. I watch it for fun, for some good British programming (which has currently appeared to die down, though I thought The Yellow House was pretty good)
The story was as obscure as expected an old vampire like woman (reminding me too much of the similar old lady in the Doublemeat Palace) being chased by some large rhinoceros dudes, who I think were fairly cute, and were operated with animatronics!! Woo!
So.. um... yeah that's pretty much all I have to say, it's getting late, and I wanna sleep, so I'll end on this shot from the episode.

Also, for anyone living under a rock, you may also have not seen this;
GTA IV!
Now, I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting pretty excited at how pretty this is promising it look :) Screw the mass violence crap.
Mmmm chocolate and orange muffins ^_^
Because I'm a BAD BAD person!
Here is my review of Sam & Max Episode 4: Abe Lincoln must die (because I neglected to do one once I had finished it)
BEST EPISODE EVER
I believe this says it all!
'Animation's a bit iffy on this in particular, but just so, so awesome ^_^
Anyways look out for my opinony thing on the newest episode of Doctor Who after it aires tonight
Woooo "The Perfectionist"!!
I was expecting Catherine to do an entry on this (as she pretty much took on the role of 'runner' for the two days)... but she hasn't and it's been at least one whole day since it occured, so I have taken it upon myself to inform my anticipating fans! :P
I feel the need to write up a little something on the awesomeness that was the shoot of the Perfectionist; the first fiction project I have worked on in my first year.
Not only was it the first, but it was also the coolest (no offence to Catherine or mum ^_^ who made up the team in the past) not only for director Mish, producer Katy, DOP Abi, and runner Catherine but for the two best actors we could of possibly got our hands on :D

So, firstly the film was written by me, which as I have previously mentioned is soo cool, so it meant I could see my lines and vision shot; which is just seriously out of this world (because all of my films in the past didn't really follow scripts, because I'm not dialogues best friend) and I cannot thank everyone enough for choosing my script, I can only hope that it will look even more amazing after the edit (I can't wait that long!!!)
I would take some shots of the film itself, but as it's just rushes at the moment, I do not wish to spoil it for anyone, so you'll just have to wait :P
I worked as sound recorder person on the shoot; which is fun, which means really that I was able to just sit back and watch Graham and JP bring William and Lewis to life (which also makes to be even cooler as when I watch the footage on a computer, I am watching it for the first time, which is awesome)
I cannot say that the shoot didn't have its ups and downs, we experienced some problems, some things trying to stop us, but it was most definately the best experience I've had since I've been here, thanks everyone ^_^
Finally thanks to Mish for a really good crew shot :)
Forgot to mention the awesome banana muffins I made, which were a huge hit (thankfully everyone seemed to love them ^_^ yay)
Over and out :)
A Busy Week
WOOOOO!
... sorry, but I'm just so excited that starting Tuesday, we start filming woo! Not only that, but it is my script that we are filming; which is really cool, thanks guys ^_^ Didn't realise it would be so well recieved... lets hope everyone else on the course enjoys it.
So yay! And! (there's more!?)
I, and my counterpart (catherine) may also have somewhere to live next year (yay!) and its like next door to the campus (double lazy yay!) ... just gotta find someone to move in with us (3-bedroom house) but I believe we may have someone in mind ^_^
And a house with so few people in, means I can do more of this;

Not to mention; what I believe is the ultimate student food...

Just a tin of beans, and about a kilo of potatoes, nothing simplier! And tastes a darn sight better than a lone tin of beans! ^_^ Nice on a cold day.
I also know for certain that on days that I am bored with nothing to do I will continue experimenting with my baking recipes; my most recent amazing discoveries!

Just plain, simple banana muffins ^_^ very yummy, though the photo makes them look more like cookies :P I'll need to buy a load of cupcake cases in the future!
What else is there....
I bought Theme Park for the DS! Which is absolutely amazing fun; like playing it on the megadrive all over again (the most fun version IMO) though unfortunately I cannot afford it, so I'm gonna have to get rid of it... mainly got this to blame for that, but I couldn't help myself, I have never seen an actual copy of the game anywhere before!
Home in a week for easter, mum's birthday, testing at Lionhead (YEAH!) then back to sunny old Newport for the Women in Games Conference, by that time there will be 3 (count that!) 3! weeks until C11 WOOOO
I believe that's all the updates necessary on the Weirdo front... see ya pals!
The cookies from another WOORLD!

After our accomodation flop on sunday we were pretty disheartened, but there is nothing cookies and a good ol' sausage toad can't cure ^_^
Especially when the cook doesn't know what happens when marshmallows are cooked >_<

But do not fret, I was clever and did half a batch with marshmallows, and the other with simple white chocolate chips, don't they look gorgeous!

Aren't you all jealous now!! Seeing as I have mastered the art of soft cookies, I'll probably make more in the future; which I am sure will be bad for me, but the idea of experimentation is just great...
On another note, I got a provisional B11 (1-2), perhaps even a B12 for my script, yay me :D
Looks like tonight I shall be attempting the very yummy looking chicken noodle casserole; then in a day or so, I hope to venture out a cook us a full on cottage pie!!
Buffy Season 8 Debut!
YES! The day I've been waiting a few months for! As of yesterday I was able to get my grubby mitts on #1 of the new Buffy
serial!!!
So was it worth all the wait and hype??
I'd damn say so!
It's been -almost 4 years!!!- since Buffy left our screens, and it's one of those shows that seems as like it will never die... actors from the show are still 'known' as the characters they played, successions of comics ran until 2004, fan-fiction is still written surrounding Buffy and it’s characters, articles and essays are still exploring the show. Books have been coming out since 1998. Not to mention the impact it's had on TV since its debut.
It goes without saying that Buffy made a huge impact on the whole of everything, that, and it’s just awesome; giving female characters more than just conventional roles, and relying on the storytelling and character development that an episode can produce.
/rant
Anyway... the issue ruled, brought back the flair and glamour that is Buffy (as well as a cute Nick Fury comment), and got me back into reading my backlog of comics; finally I feel like reading all the Amazing Spider-man I had been neglecting (with #522 containing some of the best Laugh-out-loud moments I've experienced in ages)
My only complaint of this wonderful event is simply that comics are waaay too short for my liking. Cannot wait for April 4th (not only for it being my mum's Birthday, but also that #2 gets released ^_^)
70 Years
Eeeep I meant to do an entry about this yesterday (sorry Mr. Lovecraft T_T)
So I'll make it short and sweet, 70 years ago to this day (yesterday) Mr Howard Philips Lovecraft died.
I just thought that I would like to commemorate the passing of such an amazing writer.
Happy Death Day Mr. Lovecraft!
So now, if I have it correct in my head, next year Lovecraft's work will be in public domain?? If so, awesome, Rats in the Walls here I come :D
Daifuku attack!!
If pokemon were to exist, I would so have a Daifuku as one; I mean, look at its amazing powers.
GO DAIFUKU!

Scary aren't they?

Anyway, I'll get to it now, I've had my fun.
Thanks to http://www.youkaimura.org/mochidai.htm I found a nice recipe for Daifuku (a way to use up the brunt of the red bean paste I created)
And what a way to begin! (Lets just hope next time, we don't butcher the recipe as much as we did this time, still tasted nice mind you)
Tomorrow's episode, Dorayaki!
Anyone that notices the more obscure pokemon reference gets a shiny cookie!
Awesome potatoes and a strange ball
First off, I shall begin with the awesome potatoes; which, contrary to the name have nothing whatsoever related in shape or form to the tuberous vegetable.
No, what I refer to is the amazingly awesome Sam and Max sketch book, or as it is titled 'The Age of S&M'

(together with a nice pair of handcuffs), so that anyone that sees the book is able to go off on a tangent on the book’s specific contents.
I must admit I've only managed to have a flip through the thing, after a fit of raging jealous that it is marked as a second edition,

I continued on; looking at the pretty pictures -some of them pretty akin to my drawing skills even. I am a little disappointed that it is a rather small book, but have chosen not to go on about this, as it only cost $17.

But either way, it’s awesome, shoving Telltale up my list, to the spot of No.2 game developer -because nothing will ever beat the amazingly awesomeness of Double Fine.
I cannot wait to see if they begin selling various different Sam and Max related articles. (They better ^_^)
Onto my ‘strange ball’!!! I finally wanted to make some Onigiri (rice balls) after seeing them in numerous anime, and not to mention: Harvest Moon.
Now, veering from the traditional savoury (and mostly fishy) flavour of Onigiri I wanted to make a sweet alternative, finding Ohagi to look a little funny... I looked to my amazing imagination and made this little (actually huge) creation, with many due thanks to this website

So.. rather than use Japanese rice, I used glutinous, and rather than sprinkling with salt for a nice taste I sprinkled sugar... now because of this, it also means that it would be impossible to take my creation away from the kitchen to eat hours later (as there is no salt to preserve the rice) but it still makes a tasty snack if you are in the mood for making them.
I also filled the ball with red bean paste (which I made myself also)

In other unrelated news, I asked the comic guy today about the new Buffy and he said he wouldn't be getting it in until next, next week!!!
Looking at my schedule for the next couple of weeks, it looks like I'm going to have to pick it up off him >_>
P.S I love Lovefilm for sending me some free Green&Blacks chocolate; of which I must have mooore!!

It's just not fair!
No! No! Do not try and convince me otherwise!
My world is at an end *cries* after really turning into a Buffy geek of recent I have waited in anticipation for the release of season 8 -in comic format (cover art by Jo Chen!! :o who did the cover for Fable?!?!)
I even turned crazy and asked the comic stall guy in Newport -who said he didn't know the exact release date!! What sorta comic guy are you? :P
So now I must wait *sigh* another week for its release.. but then I get to make my own version of Onigiri tonight... then next Friday I get to work with actors again -woo go boom operators!. Meh I can wait a week ^_^
