Manamoon

Ok I recently bought myself a cd, I know I should be saving but I've wanted it for ages so I couldn't help myself :(, I bought it as it was the cheapest way to get it, so I bought it from the Japanese HMV site, I'm not gonna say how much it cost, but more than I'd usually pay for a cd, anywho I got it yesterday and to my surprise there was a tear in the jiffy packet, I thought ok that's a bit weird, was actually delivered by parcel force and EMS tho. Ok then I opened it being all happy that I finally go it and what I saw did not make me happy. The cd case had become wrecked in the post, probably cos what it was sent it was like 3 sizes too big to hold a cd, so it wasn't snug inside, I will now show pictures of the damage, I have never received anything before where it has been hurt so bad.

When I opened up the parcel I tipped these onto my hand...

pieces

The first thing I saw when I took it out was this crack, at first I thought that was it.

crack

I then opened the sealed plastic stuff to have a look at the cd, I then took off the spine card from the side and it almost fell apart.

After taking off the spine card I saw what was underneath

side

Then when I turned the case around I saw this

hole

I then tried to open the cd and it fell apart due to

inside

Here is my broken case

case

I'm amazed the cd wasn't hurt, but I've complained to HMV japanesey and they've told me they'll send me a replacement if I send them the bad one back, with FedEx with C.O.D, but of course the closest FedEx is Stanstead or London and I'm not going out of my way to send back a cd so I can get a new one. So they better let me use parcelforce, heck they did when sending it to me.

I have never in my whole life been so appalled with any postal service, I just don't understand why it had to be my cd. Great songs tho.

I wouldn't have minded if it was just the case that was hurt, but the inlay was ripped.

Gameys

Well Ransom recently posted on the forums about a game called World of sand, well I recently found out the guy has also done Slug Slayer and also the very cool War of the Hell. I really love the War of Hell game, I read this about it on the Edge site

Described as a "stick-person battle royal," War of the Hell is, according to its programmer, loosely inspired by Rashômon-author Akutagawa Ryûnosuke's short story The Spider's Thread, in which the Buddha rescues a murderer from the depths of hell by lowering down a single string of webbing as a reward for the man's single good deed in life -- opting not to smash a roadside spider.

I really like it, and it's pretty addictive

grab

If you look closely you can see the little people grabbing for the rope, sooo cute =3

And there is them on the rope, it's so fun :D

Newport :)

Well was in school checking out a couple of websites so I popped on UCAS and I've got a conditional offer for Newport :D woopie, gotta get 200 points, but I should be able to do that...I hope, anyways that like minimum of getting my D in AS ICT up to a C which shouldn't be hard, I should be able to get it to a B, kinda depends on if everyone fails the resit O_o like um again. Yeah and along with that C at A level I need at least 3 D's well I reckon I should be able to get an A in media, if not that a B, perhaps a B or a C in Law and either a C or D in art. I would include general studies but no now they say they don't accept it *growls* which means I'm doing the lesson for no reason now. Doesn't matter tho, I'll just get a grade that means nothing at all. It's strange really this time last year I wasn't planning on going to university, and now I can't wait to do it, strange feeling really, I guess I just wanna be free for once.
Charlotte also got in and she has to get 240 points (how's that fair?).

The Saga of Ryzom

I first heard of the game when I entered the beta of it a few years back, of course I didn’t get accepted into the beta, which was kinda mean, although it was a closed beta so I suppose maybe I applied to late. Anywho I popped in game once and saw that it had been released and I chuckled…dunno why. But now it’s today and I popped into GAME yesterday. As Charloo wanted to check out the sale in HMV again, so we also popped in GAME, it being jam packed full of people (very annoying) I was forced to stand near the cheap pc games, and what did I find, the one and only Ryzom, on sale for a huge £2.98, so I thought wow, that’s not bad, and you get a free month with the game (it being an MMORPG with a monthly fee). I checked on the back and it costs £8.49 a month, a whole 50p cheaper than WoW. But I thought for £2.98 it’s not bad as I’m getting one of those months for nothing, so as Charloo owes me money (I bought the movies for her when it came out) so she paid £2 towards it and I paid a pound, not bad really. So I looked at the instruction book a little while we were in Tesco, it’s got some lovely illustrations in there, and one of the races look rather unique which is nice. So once we got home I popped it in and installed it. It didn’t take that long, so I set up an account and everything, took a while I think, and for some reason you can only have lower case letters in your username. Anyway I then logged in where I had to patch it through command prompt, which um I thought was a tad strange, after about 20 mins of that I finally got to choose my server, and there is only one server to choose, which is a bit lame, but I guess maybe they used to have more (The game being made a few years back) and they just deleted them to save them money and space etc. So I then thought yay I can try the game, but nope, that patching before wasn’t enough, I had to go through 210 files, which was 330mb so I got to leave it there for about 2 hours as it was doing it very slowly. So I played a little Lemmings (cute) and sat bored for a while. Once it had finally patched and I loaded up the game and created my character, I’m a female Zorais as they look pretty cool, shame about the lack of clothes tho. Anyway I chose her and loaded the game up, I got a tad confused when it all started, there are tons of windows and it told me to talk to the woman infront of me, I was then sent all over this tiny little village talking to people, so next I thought. I wanna make something or buy armour, but you start off with no money or anything, which is annoying so I went to kill these little cute things which have santa hats on, omg so cute,

little guy

It got a bit tedious after that as I just kept killing them and I could only just afford to buy some armour after selling what I “Quartered” off of the little things after killing them. Yeah and still not knowing how to craft or anything I was about to give up on the game, as I kept dying and was pretty much fed up with it. And messing around with the options I found out the game has an in-built MP3 player in it so you can load up your songs in the game without it taking up lots of system resources like it would if I were to load up WMP. Anyway after giving up, this morning I met two lovely people from the Netherlands who asked if I’d like to join their group, and then I was able to kill stuff and one of them was a mage, and it was so much easier, I also gained skill points and found out how to craft, it’s a lovely experience, I’ve only played the game for 2 days now, but it’s beautifully made, the graphics are pretty nice for an mmorpg, since they’re usually not so great graphically (except maybe SWG) but the environment is nice, and the enemies are cute, especially this guy and his sentinels

cute guy

sentinels

It seems like an all-round nice game, even when I logged in this morning it said happy new year to me. Although I am told Nevrax claimed they’d release lots of expansions and new planets but it’s been out for 2 years and they basically lied to us!!! I’m sure I’m gonna have fun playing it further, as I am only just in the starting area (noob island) and I’m sure the whole planets will have much for me to explore. So overall it’s better than some MMORPGs I’ve played, but I still think games like WoW and SWG are superior. But it does also remind me of a mix of Phantasy star (probably the more fantasy element to it) and galaxies, although I’m not too sure why, but it’s a nice game and is well work 3 quid just to try it for a month, I recommend it to all.
