My experience with Dark Messiah.
Well, a few weeks ago, I was wondering through portalforums, and I noticed a guy named Chapstick telling someone to get Steam.
I always wanted it, so I thought to myself, "Why the fuck did'nt I get it before?"
So I dowloaded it, and the first game I tried was the Demo of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.
After 2 and a half hours of dowloading, I finally got the game up and running.
Now first off, I have a Radion 9800, along with only 512 Mb of Ram, not too bad considering, but not good enough for this game. So I turned down the graphics from the recomended level it gave me to the bare minimum, Excuse the image size. This is how it looks:

Still fucking awsome looking, the downside was I still had tons of lag. The lag it self pulled me away from the game because I could'nt win a fight. (Curse my 512!) Another problem with it was the loading screens took atleast 5 to 6 minutes to pass. That may be because I downloaded it from Steam, but I've heard reports of it happening to people all over who actually baught the game.
I started out in the tutorial level, where I learned how to fight and jump and all level up, but then it launched me into one of the most famous levels of the game. The level on my screenshot was beautiful, every part of it I admired even with the specs turned down. I played it about 10 different times, and everytime I experienced something new. For instance, when I tried to play as a steath fighter, I quickly got into the habbit of crouching and sneaking up on guys, but I found out that the orcs can smell you, but when I threw a bottle of oil on one of them, he couldnt smell me as I snuck up behind him. I laughed at that moment for awhile. Another one, was any rope, or dangly thingy in the game you can climb and I found many secret ways and treasures because of my exploring the small level. Its huge, and I had a blast. The combat was amaizingly fun! With just a sword, a boot, and some magic, I kicked ass and took names. The part I thought most fun with the combat was that you cant just go in and bat your sword at them, because they are some tough mother fuckers. So I experiemented with all kinds of stuff, even throwing the oil I used to sneak up on the orc at another guy, and throwing a fire ball at him. He then procceded to run around crying, and eventually pushed another guy off the side of the building.
In the long run, Might and Magic is awsome, I love the graphics, the story, the fighting, and the mood. I just wish I had a kick ass comp to push the game on.
