Your mom goes to E3. Oh wait, so do I!

Last June I was blessed with the trip of a life time. That's right, I went down to little ol' LA and partook(is that a word?) in the most beautifull event known to the gaming community! E3!, E3,e3,e3e3e3e... Basically my best friends dad works for EA games, and he got me and friend of mine named Ashley into the "industry only" zone. It was basically all my wildest dreams comming true. I've wanted to go since I first heard about E3 but never really thought I could go, or if I did not at my current age.

Anyway E3 was amaizing. The show rooms were lit up and loud but thats part of the atmospher. Every major company had a kick ass booth, but I must say EA's was the best because of the presentations they had. Most of the booths were fun, and there were a lot of hand outs. I learned about a new protective/decorative skin company called Gelaskin .

Its pretty BA, the dude gave me a cool skin that belongs to a iPod but I used it on my Zune and it works fine. I got to play around in the Alianware section as well as Fatal1ty's booth. Ashley and I got to meet Olivia Munn.

Got plenty of kick ass swag and posters, some shirts and some flyers. It was awesome, the only bad thing about it was the walking distances. We must have put on like 20 miles a day. But I'm not trying to complain, I'm totaly stoked I got to go and I entirley greatful to Dave(My buddys dad) for what he did.

Outside of E3 LA was pretty interesting, I got to eat Thai and Indian food for the first time, actually got to take a tour of EA LA which was freakin AMAIZING! And have some of the best frozen yogert i've ever eaten. It's one of my most favorite memories, and I thank the Rowlands for everything they have done for me. Without them I couldnt have gone on the trip and experience the sheer pants soiling trauma that comes with being at E3.

Camel Spiders!

So there I was, sitting on a red cloth Pool table minding my own business, when all of a sudden... THERE WAS A BABY CAMEL SPIDER ON THE WALL!!!!! RAWR GRRR AWR!!!!!

Its true, I was spending the night at my buddy Devan's house last saturday. It was just a normal night, (except the furniture fort him and my other friend Shane made) Devan's girlfriend Meghan came over along with her girlfriend (It escapes my mind). We were sitting on his pool table, when Meghan said there was something on the wall, well we all looked and there was in fact a thing on the wall. So Devan and I investigate, as we got closer with a cup just so we could catch it, we realized it had ten legs. So we put it in the cup, and started messing with it, it was about 2 inches long, and had these huge pincher's for fangs. Devan suggested it was a Camel Spider, which I agreed looked like it, however it is only native to the eastern Hemisphere, so we look it up online and sure enough it was a Camel Spider, my god it was freaky afterword. We tried to call the police for some information about exterminators but chances go the station was closed... So we have it now, and it is still alive. I've named it Dr. Worm, I think because I had the song stuck in my head when we found it.

Here's some freaky pics of it, you can see a suspicious looking man in the background of one, he scares me.

RAM... FINALLY!!

I finally got some much needed RAM. I bought 2 gigs worth from Newegg which just arrived today, and wow. Honestly the difference is amazing. I was scared at first that I didn't know what I was doing, so I just decided to go with it, and if anything happened I would just put the old 512 back in, well it worked! I pulled out my lightly used Doom 3 and started playing, just in the first cinematic I noticed the difference, no lag except for some jumps here and there, but well worth the $124 I spent on it. Dark Messiah though is still running a bit funky, I got through the beginning without a hitch, but once I got the open world the game crashed on me. I'm not sure, it could be my video card, (If you guys have any ideas then I would love to here some input) I have a Radeon 9800, (not pro) and it runs Vampire and Masquerade and Doom 3 on the highest levels, it even recommended full everything on Dark Messiah, but whatever, I'm content with what I have right now.

Maybe in the future I'll build a brand new comp, but for now this is pretty bitchin.

Psychobilly?

Yes, Psychobilly.

In very few words, it's the mixture between Punk Rock, and Rockabilly.

So, why waist an entire post in my blog about it? Well, it's my new style. Yes that's right, I have succumb to my ever lasting urge to sway away from the good ol' rock n' roll, to a much harder and darker mix of fun music. The dancing, which is called wrecking, is a mix between The Skank, and 2 stepping, with a little bit of a strut. Wrecking is also pretty violent because while your doing this stuff with your feet, your try to hit as many people as you can. Well, I don't know why... but eh, I've lost interest in this, I think it's because I was posting something here to keep it awake, since it's not really alive. I just didn't want to waist such a thing.

So, um, bye!

My experience with Dark Messiah.

Well, a few weeks ago, I was wondering through portalforums, and I noticed a guy named Chapstick telling someone to get Steam.

I always wanted it, so I thought to myself, "Why the fuck did'nt I get it before?"

So I dowloaded it, and the first game I tried was the Demo of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.

After 2 and a half hours of dowloading, I finally got the game up and running.

Now first off, I have a Radion 9800, along with only 512 Mb of Ram, not too bad considering, but not good enough for this game. So I turned down the graphics from the recomended level it gave me to the bare minimum, Excuse the image size. This is how it looks:

Still fucking awsome looking, the downside was I still had tons of lag. The lag it self pulled me away from the game because I could'nt win a fight. (Curse my 512!) Another problem with it was the loading screens took atleast 5 to 6 minutes to pass. That may be because I downloaded it from Steam, but I've heard reports of it happening to people all over who actually baught the game.

I started out in the tutorial level, where I learned how to fight and jump and all level up, but then it launched me into one of the most famous levels of the game. The level on my screenshot was beautiful, every part of it I admired even with the specs turned down. I played it about 10 different times, and everytime I experienced something new. For instance, when I tried to play as a steath fighter, I quickly got into the habbit of crouching and sneaking up on guys, but I found out that the orcs can smell you, but when I threw a bottle of oil on one of them, he couldnt smell me as I snuck up behind him. I laughed at that moment for awhile. Another one, was any rope, or dangly thingy in the game you can climb and I found many secret ways and treasures because of my exploring the small level. Its huge, and I had a blast. The combat was amaizingly fun! With just a sword, a boot, and some magic, I kicked ass and took names. The part I thought most fun with the combat was that you cant just go in and bat your sword at them, because they are some tough mother fuckers. So I experiemented with all kinds of stuff, even throwing the oil I used to sneak up on the orc at another guy, and throwing a fire ball at him. He then procceded to run around crying, and eventually pushed another guy off the side of the building.

In the long run, Might and Magic is awsome, I love the graphics, the story, the fighting, and the mood. I just wish I had a kick ass comp to push the game on.

...Arg! Why is this month so cool?

I dont understand it, my last month was so strange.

First off, my father and i have had some very strong feeling against each other. Well, three weeks ago, I was riding with my dad to his house because he wanted to spend some time with me. He asked me since now im a senior, and I graduate in only half a year, what am i going to do? I told him, my art is becomeing my life, so I think I want to be a tattoo artist. He took that very hard, enough to tell me that he failed at a parent, and dosnt ever want to talk to me again, because it reminds him of how poorly he raised me... Such a nice thing to say to your 17 year old son. That started off my month quarter way. It actually ended out pretty well. My dad and I dont talk anymore, but I can boast a few things now. For one, I have advanced in grade half way through my Junior year. Second, I have an awsome girl friend which i just recently was blessed enough to recieve... Thank you Fonsy. Thirdly, through my terrorably emo emotional state, i have fed the bad feelings to my creativity, and used it as insperation to draw, write, and see things in a new way. I feel better, you can even say enlightened, for I can now see what my fathers motivations in life towards me were all about. Im pretty much trying to say, that life is ironic, my greatest fear for a long time was never hearing from or seeing my dad anymore, because I loved him, but now that hes gone, my life has taken a step in the right direction. So... Its all good.

Ohh, Literature and its influences.

Heres some more art stuff.

Im working on another painting, or charcole drawing.... or drawing.

But this is the rough draft of it.

Yep

The glutton came from the idea that greed can go too far, and so i got the idea and the name from the Poet Dante, after he wrote the Divine Comady ( You must read this book ). In hell there are Cirlces. 7 main ones actually, but the 3rd is reserved for the Gluttons, and they must lay in a marsh, and let hail and sleet, and rain or snow fall on them for eternity.

The Glutton (My character) Was greedy with money, food, and time. Eventually the hunger took over in a manifestation of hunger itself, and the glutton eats uncontrolably. The mouth comming from the stomach repressents hunger.

As you can see, he is dead from the chest up, that is because the glutton took over the mans body, and ate all the fat, mussle, orgins, and tissue not being used.
I hope you like him, Within six months i should have the final result.

ART!

If you guys didnt know, i like to draw, alot. And i kinda sorta stoped drawing for awhile, well finally, about two weeks ago, i was struck in the head with an idea, something i look at now, and giggle with content. I love it

An Introduction

Hello all, and welcome to my Blog.

My Name is Jarek Creason, but ive been using the name Achilles for awhile (Long Story). So anyways, Ive been looking for a place on the net to call home, someplace where I could have fun just ranting and complaining, where i can create or destroy something, make it seem small or huge, glorify it, or hate it, just someplace have fun at, but also someplace where I can say its mine (Or partcialy mine). Thanks to a man named Paul Smith, I know have a place like that. So, if you read this, then expect lots of random, senceless, fun, or crazy posts.
